The Rothschild House was built in 1868 by a Bavarian entrepreneur named D.C.H. "Baron" Rothschild, a merchant who set up shop in the town selling various wares. Nearly untouched since 1919, the historic home offers an amazing example of the structure, items and furnishings common in a 19th century home, including a large Victorian garden, filled with heirloom plants and herbs. The home is located in the eastern section of the city, just blocks from the waterfront Jefferson County Historical Society Museum.
Open daily May - Sep: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Adults $4; Children (under 12) $1.
